How We're Organized

The Children and Youth Cabinet is a coalition of organizations, systems, residents and youth. We are organized around issues that have emerged from community-generated priorities. In order to see results for children and youth, all CYC partners including residents, organizations, systems and youth agree to:

  • Collaborate to set priorities and plan for action
  • Take specific action towards shared goals
  • Continuously learn together and monitor progress
  • Make policy and practice recommendations based on collective learning
  • Engage new partners needed to reach shared goals

Additionally, Systems leaders (Mayor’s Office, School Department, State agencies) and community-based organizations agree to:

  • Share data related to goals
  • Develop, incubate and scale new strategies
  • Work with other partners to align policies, programs, activities and resources
  • Build support within their own organizations to advance shared goals

Finally, residents and youth have a unique role in:

  • Providing critical input as consumers of programs and systems
  • Advocating for policy and practice improvements
  • Building community support for shared goals

As we build our strategic roadmap for 2017 and beyond we will be refining our coalition’s organizational structure. Stay tuned for our plan coming this fall!
